Shouta and Magic School (First Half) is the sixty-fifth chapter of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon.
Summary[]
Kobayashi, Tohru, Shouta, and Lucoa head to England to attend a magic school for a day.
Plot[]
Lucoa and Shouta arrive at Kobayashi's house telling Kobayashi and Tohru that they will be heading to a magic school in England. Kobayashi begins to complain because she will be doing on her precious day off from work.
A few days before leaving for England, Mr. Magtsuchi asks Kobayashi if she could escort Shouta so that he will be able to pass his rank exam. Kobayashi asks about Shouta's mother, however, she does not have any knowledge about magic. Everyone then arrives at the magic school and it is revealed to be a modern building. Kobayashi begins to have her doubts, but Lucoa informs Kobayashi that magic continues to evolve with the times. Kobayashi asks Shouta if he would be able to take his exam online, Shouta tells Kobayashi that he does have the skills to do it. Lucoa then interjects and states that Shouta is taking the exam to increase his rank to the fourth highest. Shouta is confident that he will pass the test.
Before they could get into the hall they had to read off a string of random characters, Kobayashi was somehow able to read the characters. Once they step inside they notice everybody wearing a black robe, and they notice that someone is handing them out. Everybody changes into the black robe when two people walk up to Shouta. Shouta recognizes them as William and Emily. Kobayashi attempts to listen to their conversation, however, she cannot understand what they are saying. Tohru then translates it for her, telling that Shouta is being unaffected about them making a fuss about his father's name. Also that Shouta does not want to fight over his father's name, and would rather compete against each other. William's familiar then begins to badmouth Lucoa and Shouta ends up getting the label of perv on him. Lucoa says that it is ok even if Shouta is a perv. This causes William to become frustrated.
They begin to head towards the exam room when someone tells Kobayashi to take a seat for the exam. Tohru then informs Kobayashi that she has been registered for the exam. Kobayashi believes that the manager is behind her taking the exam. Kobayashi then starts taking the exam and she realizes that she can actually solve the problems. The exam is finished and the results are posted on the board, Shouta ranked eighth and Kobayashi ends up finishing first.
