Kobayashi and Letters (小林さんと手紙) is the seventy-first chapter of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon.

Summary[]

Kobayashi writes a letter to Kanna's Father.

Plot[]

While Kanna makes her dragon ball, Tohru notices that Kobayashi is writing a letter. The previous day, Kobayashi had visited Mr. Magatsuchi's secret library at his house, and learned of a way to fast-track her magic skills, but only if she offers to give up something important to her. Kobayashi also asked about Lucoa, who she had not seen for a while. Magatsuchi knew that Lucoa is a spectator dragon, and cannot be shown to take sides in any battle.

Tohru is shown the book Kobayashi borrowed; one with two hundred years of magic written into it. Kobayashi thinks that communicating with Kanna's father would help at this time. While Kobayashi and Kanna write the letter together, Tohru decides to make her move, and locates Elma while the latter is on lunch break. They discuss the new enemy dragon, Lumineis, who appeared to have been driven to the Harmony faction after the Chaos faction kept attacking him. The reach the conclusion that the war will start when Kanna hands her dragon ball over. Tohru notices that Elma's intel is similar to Ilulu's, and suspects that Azad might be fanning the flames.

Tohru returns to the apartment where Kobayashi and Kanna have just finished writing their letter. They ask Tohru to deliver it. At Kimun's palace, Tohru hands over the letter and is about to leave when Kimun stops her, making her wait until he has finished reading the letter. Kimun sees Kobayashi's letter to him as a challenge. He immediately writes a reply for Tohru to deliver to Kobayashi. The reply is short and straightforward, which angers Kobayashi and Kanna.
